Warnings - given by our inner voice

Life presents you with activities, encounters and so much more besides! But before you commit to anything, ask yourself whether or not that particular thing will contribute to your spiritual development. There are always warning signs. If you sense darkness in your thoughts, turmoil in your feelings and indecision in your will, do not commit yourself, for that is the absolute criterion. Many recognize that, actually, there was something warning them, but their wish to satisfy their desires was stronger, so they took no notice of it, and then, of course, disappointments and regrets ensued. There are always warning signs; no one can say they have not received any, but they do not take them into consideration, because the temptation, the pull, is too strong. Later all they can do is lament, ‘Oh! If I’d known!’ But it’s too late. So, learn to listen to the inner voice that is cautioning you.
