Psychic life - based on a certain imbalance

Every element, every object, every situation and every living creature is a source of energy, but for this energy to manifest itself, it must be put in a state of imbalance, on an incline, as it were. Look at water when it is put on a flat surface: it spreads out into a still pool. Put this water on a steep incline and it will sweep away everything in its path. The same applies to human beings. Within us there is a slope down which forces continually cascade, and these forces must be channelled to ensure that they produce good work. However, this slope constantly needs to be rebalanced, because excess at one end eventually leads to excess at the other. We see this, for instance, with people who alternate between states of overexcitement and depression. Our psychic life is based on a certain imbalance, and when this imbalance is controlled, it brings riches and creativity. Geniuses, for example, are not balanced people in the accepted sense of the word (this kind of balance often produces only mediocrity). Quite the contrary in fact. Geniuses are often people who, feeling threatened by dark forces, try to keep them under control by means of work and creation, and in so doing they achieve great works.*
