Freedom - signs heralding it

Sometimes we can feel ourselves being raised up to heaven when we least expect it. Obviously, we would wish to remain up there for ever, but it is not possible, as there is still so much keeping us tied to the world below! If heaven grants us this grace, it is so that we may have a foretaste, an intuition, of the light-filled space we are destined to live in one day. These sudden feelings of joy we sometimes experience tell us of the freedom to come. In autumn, when the trees begin to lose their leaves, you know winter is close, and in winter when the snowdrops begin to open you know they are heralding the coming of spring. In your soul, just as in nature, there are signs of what is to come, and you must learn to recognize and interpret them.
