Evolution of beings - one way of telling this is what they can or cannot tolerate

It is right that wicked people should be punished, but you should still love them. What you should love in them is that they are God’s creatures, who are finding it difficult to emerge from darkness; this thought will allow you to tolerate them more easily. Look at yourself: when someone you love makes mistakes, you know how to be patient and indulgent, whereas when it is someone you do not love, even their good behaviour annoys you, to the extent that you attribute dubious motives to it. Only love can give you patience and open your eyes to the intentions of others. And patience is also an expression of strength. Those who are strong do not allow themselves to be affected by the behaviour of the people around them, whereas those who are weak cannot tolerate anything – the slightest upset and they are beside themselves. You see people who get incredibly angry over the tiniest thing! And often these are the same people who remain almost indifferent to the horrendous injustices that others have to endure. I can tell from what people can or cannot tolerate what stage they are at on the path of evolution.
