Courts of law - exist in humans too
If you went by appearances, you might say humans were wise and reasonable – almost, anyway! They apply certain rules, and they endeavour to respect the laws governing society, knowing that if they break them they will have to deal with the justice system. But inwardly, what do they do in their thoughts and feelings, unseen by the outside world? They pilfer, destroy and kill, and then wonder why they are unhappy, weak and ill. If they were to stop for a moment and analyse themselves honestly, they would have to acknowledge that at certain moments they have tolerated some very negative thoughts and feelings in themselves. They were unaware that thoughts and feelings also have consequences, which is why they are now in this pitiful state. They know there are courts of law for those who have said or done something wrong. But they are unaware that there are also courts for negative thoughts and feelings and that these courts exist within themselves. Nothing humans experience inwardly is without effect. If only they would foster generous, unselfish thoughts and feelings, they would also see results.
