Atmosphere, earth’s - and psychic atmosphere

The earth's atmosphere is made up of different kinds of layers. In the lower layers, waste and dust accumulate, teeming with microbes. But the higher you rise, the purer and more luminous the regions you enter. Like the atmosphere, human beings are also made up of several layers, or levels, on the psychic plane. Different creatures live on each level, and sometimes one kind will show itself, sometimes another. When we elevate ourselves inwardly, creatures from the lower levels are prevented from following us, because they are unable to continue to breathe beyond a certain level, just as microbes cannot survive beyond a certain temperature. The higher we rise, therefore, the more we free ourselves, for, with each step we take towards the summit, lower entities are forced to leave us: they are unable to breathe in the higher layers of our atmosphere.
