‘The Father and I are one’ - commentary

Jesus said, ‘The one who believes in me will also do the works that I do’, and through his teaching and his example he opened the path for all men and women to become like him, to act like him and also, one day, to be able to say like him, ‘The Father and I are one’. If, when you read the Gospels, you are not aware of what it is you share with Jesus, what you have in common with him, in what way you are the same, it is because you have allowed all sorts of dark elements to cover up your divine nature, and then, of course, you cannot recognize it anymore. But if you work with love and wisdom to purify your thoughts, feelings and actions, you will gradually feel your divine nature awaken. Yes, you must reach the state of consciousness where you feel you are no longer separate from the Lord but one with him.
