Reality - do not let little annoyances make you forget the priceless gifts of life

There is more good than bad in life. If you are always discontented it means that you are incapable of seeing things as they really are. The least you can do is try to see both sides of life. Those who are always satisfied and optimistic because they see only the good are not realistic either. But to spend your time in a fury because someone has offended you, something costs more than you had expected, or—more foolishly still—because your dinner was overcooked, too salty or not salty enough, and to react to such minor inconveniences as though they were major catastrophes ends up making you look daft. Learn to weigh all these irksome little details against the priceless gifts of life. Once you realize that such small annoyances can make you forget all that is good and beautiful in the world and poison the lives of your family and friends, you will be ashamed of yourself.
