Poet, a - is someone who spreads light, warmth and life

Why is it that so many people are dull, cold, stiff and tense? No warmth or light emanates from them. They will tell you that they like poetry, but they leave it to the poets who write it. From time to time, they read a few verses, but the life they themselves lead is not poetic, and this is why they have so little joy in meeting each other. When will they understand that true art, the art of the future, is to make life poetical by becoming more expressive and alive themselves, and by cultivating their own warmth and light? Humans are extraordinary: they expect others to bring them comfort, friendship, love and light, but they themselves remain passive, uncommunicative, dull and prosaic. They don’t know how to live this poetical life thanks to which they will be loved. Each day, they must endeavour to spread light and warmth so as to go beyond themselves and their mundane apathy. It is so very pleasant to meet a poet – a being in whom you sense that everything is alive, animated and enlightened!
