Morning and evening are linked - each needs to be prepared in advance

It is not always easy to renew your contact with the creative, luminous powers of life when you first wake up in the morning. A lot depends on how you spent the previous day. Morning is linked to evening, and evening to morning, and each needs to be prepared in advance. In the evening you must think about the morning; in the morning you must think about the evening that lies ahead. It is very important not to be in a negative state of mind at night when you set out for the world of sleep, for you are going to come before some very exalted beings and you must get ready to meet them by calming and purifying yourself. And if, before dropping off to sleep, you feel tormented or anxious, do not stay in bed. You have to be extremely strong to defend yourself while lying down. You will be stronger if you stand up. So get up, say some prayers or make some gestures, and do not go back to bed until you have restored harmony, peace and light within yourself.*
