Light - what creation is made of

On the first day of creation, God said, 'Let there be light!' If we compare this phrase to the beginning of the Gospel of St John: 'In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God', we make this essential discovery: that light is the substance which the divine Word, the firstborn of God, caused to appear and become the matter of creation. You will say that when you look at stones, plants, animals and even human beings, you really cannot see that they are made of light. Yes, because the light within them has condensed to such an extent that it has become opaque. And if matter and light are usually seen as opposites, it is because people are unaware that what they call matter is actually condensed light.
