Life, material and spiritual - the question of aims and means

One day, after some reading or an encounter with someone, you may decide to change your life and embrace the spiritual life. Nevertheless, it will not be easy to put aside your material preoccupations: money, social position, honours, power… It is important to be aware of this and to observe yourself carefully. Otherwise you will not understand the truths of Initiatic Science; you will have no clear idea about which path to follow and will fail to make any progress. Of course, since you are on earth, no one can require you to drop all ambition or all desire for possessions, but you must strive to bring them into line with your spiritual life. In order to do so, you have to deal with a matter of great importance: that of goals and means. Instead of having money, powers and glory as your goal and using Initiatic Science as a means to achieve them, you must do the opposite: have the divine life as your ideal and dedicate to its service everything you have in terms of talents, fortune and social position. Then yes, you will make real progress.
