Discouragement - a winter before the spring

When you start to feel discouraged or desperate, do not see the difficulties you are facing as enemies that have no right to attack you, because unfortunately they do. So you have to accept these attacks and tell yourself that, because of them, lots of things will improve, and it’s true, they will. Haven’t you ever felt, following great discouragement, that you are full of energy again? Where has this energy come from? It is the discouragement that brought it. Of course, you have to be careful: make sure that your discouragement does not overwhelm you and sweep you away, becoming such a raging torrent that it will eventually engulf you. Simply accept it as inevitable, for such states are inevitable. If you know how to understand them and how to live with them, it will be like the arrival of spring after winter – you will feel regenerated.
