Disciples - they must settle their problems with those close to them

Disciples of an initiatic school must do their utmost to settle any problems with those close to them harmoniously, otherwise, they will create new karma for themselves. Why do members of the same family have to drag each other to court over money? Can’t they rise above all that? Why do they have to cling so tightly to their own interests and possessions? Good Lord, if they could just make one little gesture, they would be free! To begin with, of course, such a gesture would not come easily—it would go against the grain and be a painful step to take. But if they could do so, they would discover new realms and new light, and these people would be the proudest and happiest of all, because they would have achieved something very difficult: a victory over their grasping and possessive lower nature. The lower nature constantly advises people to defend their interests tooth and nail, even if it means resorting to the court of law. And then these same people believe they are capable of following a spiritual teaching! Well no, they are not.*
