Disciple - responsibilities toward those around him

The moment you decide to embrace a religion, a spiritual philosophy, and to put its principles into practice, you will be faced with difficulties not only in yourself, because of all the efforts required, but with others who may not understand the changes taking place in you. Well, know that it is precisely these difficulties and how you resolve them that will reveal the quality of your spiritual commitment. If by your fanatical conduct you cause someone to become aggressive and to sink deeper into his materialism because you insist on showing him your spirituality, you are responsible. Try instead to show understanding and patience, and not only will you succeed in getting him to accept your new life, but you may even persuade him to follow your example.
