Church - it must refine the forms so that they may express the spirit better

Forms always have a tendency to become rigid,* and when human beings do not guard against this, the spirit that animates these forms is no longer able to manifest its presence. It has to go and look for new forms, more suited to what it wants to express. This law is valid in every area, even in religion. The Christian Church, for example, is wrong to have insisted on clinging to the same forms for centuries. It has not understood that forms have to be continually refined and diversified, so that they can express the ever-new currents of the spirit more and more perfectly. It is human beings who are attached to forms; Cosmic Intelligence has not designed them to be immutable. Human beings may well refuse to allow forms to evolve, but events will always occur to upend and shatter rites and doctrines that were thought to be eternal. What human beings think is not what Cosmic Intelligence thinks – Cosmic Intelligence has other plans. This is why there will now be upheavals in the world, which the spirit will use to show human beings that they must not try to confine it.
