Work, true - devoting our energies to the coming of the kingdom of God on earth

Spiritual life requires us to know which activity we should give our energy to. Those who take part in ventures whose only aim is comfort, pleasure and self-interest become, without knowing it, infiltrated by dark elements they have stirred up, and these eventually extinguish all the light inside them. Be very conscious of this, and resolve to take part in the great endeavour – the coming of the kingdom of God on earth. When and how the kingdom of God will be realized is not your concern. The moment you decide to participate in this work and direct all your thoughts and energies to that end, you enter a new order of things. You therefore also do useful work on yourself, and that is what is most important.
