Wise people - they consider the essence of human beings to be their qualities

The deplorable habit of always stressing other people’s negative points causes untold damage to social life. What pleasure can there be in focusing only on what is ridiculous, stupid or nasty? What is the point of digging into people’s private lives to uncover the sordid details and then air them publicly? Wise people try to adopt a different attitude. They are not blind, nor do allow themselves to be taken in, but they consider that the essence of a human being is their qualities and virtues. So, they focus their attention on these qualities and virtues, and in doing so, they strengthen the good in others and in themselves.*
