Tuning fork - each disciple must be in tune with his or her Master

An orchestra or a choir is a symbol of the perfect accord, the harmony that should govern human relations. Sad to say this harmony is seldom ever seen. People have been brought up to do things in their own way and they never think to put themselves in tune, in harmony with others. This is why disharmony is the most widespread condition today. It is so prevalent that even when you come to an initiatic school, you continue to cultivate this anarchic attitude. You all want to do as you please, and your poor instructor is there all alone and can only observe the commotion. From now on, you must understand that your instructor is like a conductor who is there to ensure the harmony of the orchestra, and each one of you must be in tune with him or her. This instructor is the tuning fork, and when all the instruments are tuned to the note he or she gives, they will be like harps from which the wind will draw marvellous music. But there has to be a tuning fork, and that is what an instructor or a Master is: a tuning fork.
