Sun and moon, the - they also exist within us

The sun and moon are not just in the sky – they are also present symbolically in our psychic life. The sun, the masculine principle, is represented in us by our spirit and our mind; the moon, the feminine principle, is represented by our soul and our heart. When we are confronted by difficulties, it feels just as if we are battling against enemies, inner or outer ones. And it is best not to do that in the dark, meaning when the lower nature is expressing itself and perpetuating the upset and confusion. So that is the time to ask our inner sun and moon to keep shining in our sky. The sun – our mind enlightened by the spirit – will inspire us with the best thoughts. The moon – our heart enlightened by our soul – will inspire us with the best feelings. And their light will be with us until we win the battle.
