Sensual love - is not lasting

If a man expresses his love through his lower nature, his gaze immediately reflects his desire to satisfy his instincts: he is hungry, he is thirsty, and all he wants to do is satisfy his appetite. Whereas, if a man expresses his love through his higher nature, his gaze expresses beauty, light and nobility, because this kind of love demands nothing: it only wants to give, to enlighten, to save. This is true love. But the fact is, so many women prefer an ardent gaze, a gaze full of desire for them! Then they are happy, because they think that such an intense, powerful, expressive love will be a lasting one. Poor things! They are not aware that a sensual gaze tells them that this is precisely the kind of love that won't last. It has that flash-in-the-pan fierceness; no sooner is it lit than it burns out. Why do women have so little insight?
