Relations with others - see their good side

It is certainly true that human beings are often narrow-minded, nasty, ungrateful and so on, but why see only that one side? Of course, you must keep your eyes open if you are not to be misled, but that is only half of it. If you are always suspicious and critical of those with whom you come into contact, they will not only stop manifesting their good qualities in your presence (and never forget that every living being also has a good side), but they will also seek revenge. Whereas if you show that you hold them in high regard and believe in them, you have a chance of getting through to at least some of them, and they will try to live up to your good opinion of them.*
