Perfection - do not be concerned about the time it takes to achieve it

In the spiritual life, you must not be concerned with time. If you set yourself a deadline to overcome this failing or achieve that inner result, you will succeed only in becoming tense and you will not develop in a harmonious manner. You must work towards perfection without setting any time limit, knowing that eternity lies before you and that sooner or later you will attain the perfection you long for. Your only thought should be for the beauty of the work you have undertaken. Tell yourself, ‘Since it is so beautiful, I need not worry about whether it will take me hundreds or thousands of years to complete: I am working, that is all.’
