Material conditions - use them but do not count on them

Accept and make use of everything good the outer world offers you, but do not rely on it. Base your life on your own efforts, and count on nothing else. Your true future is to travel throughout the regions of space, among the stars and the suns, and you can bring along on this journey only the riches you have accumulated within yourself. Nothing is more important than learning what to work on and what to count on. As long as you rely on external conditions or material objects, you run the risk of being disappointed, for sooner or later the conditions change and the objects escape you. You can only truly count on the spirit within you, which is pure activity and constant effort. Use all the rest if you have it, and thank heaven for providing it, but do not make it your reason for living.
