Love - makes us see things and beings as if for the first time

Love has a property which will certainly have escaped you: it keeps discovering new things. People in love see each other every day in a new way, and they marvel at each other. Each time they meet, they feel as if they are seeing each other for the first time. But if there comes a time when they no longer love each other, what do they notice then? The same habits, the same little ways, the same mannerisms… And how boring, how tiring it is! So they go in search of a new love… It is not difficult to observe the truth of what I am saying. If you have love for God, for nature, everything appears endlessly new. In the morning you go to watch the sunrise; on the face of it, it is always the same ball of fire there in front of you. But if you love it, you will have the feeling every morning that you are seeing it for the first time. And, in fact, you are receiving new light, new warmth and new energy from it.
