Light is the mightiest force in the universe - The science of the future will be the science of light and colours

The science of the future will be the science of light and colours. For light – this seemingly weak and innocuous substance – is in fact the mightiest force in the universe. It is light that sets in motion the whole of creation. Thanks to light, stones, plants, animals and human beings live, and worlds go round. This is expressed in the first words of St John’s Gospel: ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being.’ Yes, the whole of creation stems from this primordial light: the Logos, the Word of God.
