Immortality - a state of consciousness acquired by identification with the spirit

The spirit alone is immortal. Therefore, only he who identifies with the spirit knows he is immortal. He is conscious of himself as a free and luminous being, separate from his body. He travels in space, he can come and go. He senses that his body is only a garment, and sometimes a garment that is worn out. How can we understand the mysteries of the universe if we identify with our shell? What motorist identifies with the car he drives? He doesn’t say: ‘I am my car’, because he knows it is only something that transports him. And what rider identifies with his horse? When Jesus said: ‘My Father and I are one’, he was identifying with his father, but not with just any father. “My Father’ refers to the eternal, all-powerful Being, the cosmic Spirit. Why not imitate Jesus, then, and identify with the heavenly Father, with the Spirit?
