God - to give up the idea of God who punishes gold rewards

If we want human beings to change and to improve their conduct, we must stop representing God as someone who will punish them if they disobey Him and reward them if they do His will. As we can see, fewer and fewer people take this notion of the Divinity seriously. If we explain to them instead what consequences their thoughts, sentiments and actions have on their physical and psychic organs, and we show them that whatever they do for good or ill has unavoidable repercussions for them, they will understand far better. Whether or not they will take these explanations into account is another question. But sooner or later they will have to admit they are true, because they will verify them through their own experience.
