Faculties - work with your most highly developed faculties

It is good to learn to know yourself, to identify which of your faculties are most highly developed and which ones you are lacking and need to acquire. Once you have gained this insight into yourself, here is some advice: always work with your strongest abilities, and from time to time, try to make up for what you lack. Do not try to work exclusively with your weakest faculties, thinking they need to be developed. It is better to look within for your strongest suit and work with that, and then – but only occasionally—try to remedy your shortcomings. For if you abandon your wealth in order to attend to your poverty, you will not get very far and you will become discouraged. On the contrary: you need to work with your talents, gifts and faculties, because riches attract riches. It is only when you have earned a great deal that you will be in a position to take care of what you lack.*
