Example - it alone influences others

There are so many people you would like to tell to be more patient, more lenient, more honest, more stable, etc! But make no mistake, if you yourself do not possess the qualities you want to awaken in them, whatever you do you will not be able to influence them. No words, no external means, can succeed in changing human beings; mark my words – no external means. You have to possess some special element within you, in your heart, soul and spirit. It is this vibrant and radiant element that influences those around you. Then, without even having to open your mouth, you awaken in them the desire to have the quality they appreciate in you. They may not achieve it immediately, because they cannot just get rid of their lower appetites and instincts from one day to the next, but they will realize there is something luminous, warm and alive about you. It is this light, warmth and life that will impress them, and they will want to follow your example.
