Confidence in future - founded on knowledge of laws

So many people live in turmoil and confusion! They aren’t sure of anything; they feel as if they were thrown into the world, into some sort of mechanism whose workings they don’t understand. Why do they feel this way? Because no one has ever explained to them that their existence, like that of the entire universe, is governed by laws. As a result, they are unable to clear the path in front of them so they can safely advance and envision the future with confidence. We cannot build a good future on a faulty present, because there is no separation between the two. As long as you haven’t learned to set the present on stable foundations – on the knowledge of the laws of nature, which are also the laws of morality – you obviously have everything to fear from the future. How can you help being afraid when you have no idea where you are going, when nothing is certain? Only those who know and respect the laws can face the future with confidence.
