Communion - establishing contact with the vital forces of nature

Communion* is an abiding, ever-present relationship between the whole of our being and the vital forces of nature: stones, plants, mountains, springs, the sun, the stars, and above all, all living beings. Christians are content to receive communion in church from time to time with bread and wine. But this is not enough. Those who truly know how to communicate are able through their love and wisdom to establish contact with every creature in the universe. Only when we truly understand this question of communion shall we be able to speak of eating the flesh of Christ and drinking his blood. When this day comes, the true, eternal life that has no beginning and no end will flood into us. Our cells and every dimension of our being will be filled with noble, pure, abundant life.
