Children - parents must teach them the meaning of effort

Parents should stop being upset when they see their children struggling a little to do what is asked of them. Children are so resourceful and resilient that they forget these little hardships very quickly; what will stay with them is the meaning of effort, which will help to shape their character. This is what should make parents happy. If, on the contrary, parents say, ‘Oh, the poor thing! He mustn’t suffer and be sad’, to spare the child a little grief, they will make him lazy, weak, selfish and capricious. Such is the love and pedagogy of adults! Parents need to realize that on the pretext of not wanting to let their children suffer, they often foster their faults. That is why parents must change their attitude, otherwise they will be responsible for hindering their children’s evolution and they will suffer.*
