Bread and wine - the last supper that Jesus shared with his disciples

During the last supper that Jesus shared with his disciples, he blessed the bread and wine, saying: ‘Eat, for this is my body. Drink, for this is my blood... Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood have eternal life.’ Bread and wine are symbols of the utmost significance that were known long before the time of Jesus. They represent the whole of Initiatic Science, which is founded on the two great cosmic principles at work throughout the universe: the masculine principle (symbolized by the bread) and the feminine principle (symbolized by the wine). Bread and wine are two solar symbols. So we are not speaking here of physical bread or physical wine, but of the two attributes of the sun: heat and light. The heat of the sun is love; its light is wisdom. Jesus was therefore saying: ‘If you eat wisdom and drink love, you will have eternal life.’*
